Unified E-Commerce UX Design System
What: Designed a unified, mobile-first UX framework for Amyris-owned brands, including PLP, PDP, shopping bag, search, and checkout pages across desktop and mobile. The design systems ensured consistent functionality while allowing each brand to maintain its unique UI and visual identity.
Why: Amyris brands previously worked with various external agencies that neglected UX best practices, especially for mobile. With over 50% of consumer engagement coming from mobile, improving consistency and usability was critical to enhancing the customer experience and driving conversions.
How: Led an in-house design team to ensure consistency and quality across brands. Directed high-fidelity prototyping, iterative testing, and agile collaboration with global teams to deliver seamless implementation. Partnered with the design systems team to create scalable frameworks that balanced efficiency with brand differentiation.

Insights & Impact: Mobile emerged as the primary channel for engagement and revenue, and the unified UX system drove a 30% revenue increase, largely from improved mobile performance. Customer insights supported the rollout of subscription models that strengthened retention and lifetime value. In 2022, Amyris reported $269.8M in core revenue (up 44% YoY), with consumer revenue growing 92% to $176.9M, demonstrating the impact of enhanced digital and DTC strategies.
